What is Hysteroscopy?
A hysteroscopy is a procedure used to examine the inside of the womb (uterus) for any problems preventing fertility & pregnancy. The procedure is performed using a telescopic camera kind of device known as the hysteroscope, which is used to observe inner linings of the uterus.
Who needs Hysteroscopy?
There are a number of situations in which your doctor may recommend a hysteroscopy. It can be used for either surgical or diagnostic purposes. It may be used to:
- for visual confirmation of another test result
- to aid in the removal of fibroids, polyps & septal resection
- in conjunction with a laparoscopic procedure
- to discover any malformation of the uterus
